Story

 

La Alejandra, former name “Aguardiente”, Colombian word for a typical Colombian liquor. When designing and developing this shape, I had the idea to create an elegant alternative for enjoying the Colombian Aguardiente. However, when I started selling these, people found a particular interest in them but as mini-vases. So now I am embracing its new purpose and using it myself as a mini vase too! If you get creative and find another use for it I would love to see a picture of an Alejandra in your home!

The Lava glaze is a new adventure I am slowly getting into. As you may (or may not know) I love to mix my own glazes and play and experiment with them. Sometimes I am successful with the recipes I create, but most of the times I am not. But that is all part of the process. The lava glaze was one I created last year, didn’t really love the results so I left it on pause. Fast forward a year later – I am organizing my glaze corner and I find that small 100g batch of Lava glaze that I tried last year, and I thought to myself… hmm I’ll put it into two mini vases just so that I don’t dispose it and I can free up space. And, OMG this came out, I don’t understand why the results ended up being so different, but I am not hating it. Also, this one was next to a mini vase with a black glaze on the kiln, which sometimes creates different colors to what is standing next to it. In this case, the little bit of pink is part of the placement on the kiln.

 

 

Care

 

  • This item is dishwasher & microwave-safe, however, washing it by hand is always better for its longevity.
  • This item is watertight.
  • If by any reason your item falls and breaks (it happens !) send me a picture and send me the broken pieces back. I’ll replace your product for a 15% discount. I’m currently working at a 100% recycled porcelain body so that the pieces don’t go into the landfill. And eventually, become a cool art piece!
