At the end of last year, I made an announcement that saddened many of you – I would be discontinuing all of my beloved mugs. It was a decision that wasn’t easy for me either, as I have always had a deep passion for creating these quirky-handled vessels. However, a new spark of inspiration has ignited within me, leading me down a different ceramic path. Today, I want to share with you my reasons for this change and my excitement for the artistic journey that lies ahead.
I want to take a moment to express my genuine affection for making mugs. They were the foundation of my business and played a significant role in its success. The joy of crafting unique handles and witnessing the delight they brought to customers was unparalleled. However, sometimes in life, we must make difficult choices to grow and evolve.
As an artist, I believe in the power of intuition. It was this inner voice that guided me towards exploring new artistic avenues beyond mugs. While I may not have a clear vision of what lies ahead, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the journey. And I invite you all to join me on this artistic adventure.
Admittedly, embarking on this new path has brought about its fair share of fear and uncertainty. The thought of relinquishing control and letting go of the spreadsheets filled with data from past sales is daunting. I worry about the financial aspect of sustaining my livelihood without relying on mugs. But I also know that growth often requires stepping outside of our comfort zones.
In life, there are no guarantees, and taking risks is an inherent part of progress. While I acknowledge the possibility of failure, I am determined to embrace the challenge and learn from it. Even if I stumble along the way, I know that the lessons I acquire will be invaluable.
